About Gale

GALE is adding a Consumer Insights Manager for our in-house primary consumer and customer experience research team! The ideal candidate has the curiosity and analytical rigor of a management consultant combined with know-how and love of primary research techniques (surveys, IDIs, focus groups, immersion/observation). You will play an active role in the design and delivery of quantitative and qualitative primary research, plus translation of results to impactful insights that drive clients’ business decisions. You will be a key member of a small-but-mighty team within the agency and have the opportunity to influence the direction of growth for GALE’s in-house Research function.

The ideal candidate has first-hand experience delivering end-to-end primary research projects. Starting from intake of an ambiguous business question, scripting it into concrete interview or survey questions and managing collection of qualified responses. They are able to analyze results, and distill into a crisp storyline of takeaways to package in a visually compelling presentation. They have the confidence to guide senior colleagues on research approaches and the poise to present findings to executive-level clients of both Fortune 100 companies and venture-funded start-ups. They appreciate that smart insights require time and thought and that client timelines require agility and fast turnarounds, and rise to this challenge!

○ Tabulating results

○ Documenting in high quality presentations

○ Presenting to executive level at GALE and on client side

● Using analytical skills to share statistically significant segmented results and insights

● Collaborating with Business Strategists and Data Scientists to pick out interesting data points and patterns from spreadsheets of behavioral data that prompt primary research questions about what drives those behaviors

● Synthesizing “Why?” and “Who?” insights into campaign briefs for GALE’s creative teams

● Working closely with Senior Leadership and GALE’s founders on research inputs to sales and pitch support

● Developing and maintaining long term client relationships as a direct point of contact

● Coaching and managing junior colleagues to higher levels of performance

● Traveling up to 50% of the time to client sites

Who You Are

● 5+ years of experience conducting Market Research projects, preferably with some supplier-side experience

○ Surveys

○ In-depth interviews

○ Ideation / co-creation workshops

○ Immersive / observational field research

○ Triangulation from desk research

● You are comfortable whipping together accurate analysis in Excel, highlighting results that matter. (i.e., findings are of interest to client questions; findings are statistically significant); knowledge of R is an asset

● You pay meticulous attention to detail in scripting research questions and in presenting data and information to clients; sharing learning in highly professional presentation decks and you know the ins-and-outs of PowerPoint (or Keynote)

● You thrive in a collaborative environment, but also know how to roll up your sleeves and move things forward independently

● You are motivated by the challenge of translating ambiguous business questions to concrete research questions and crafting methodologies to answer them

● You enjoy the “puzzle” of finding creative ways to fit way too many questions into a survey or interview script that is still a good respondent experience

● You show pride of ownership for your work output, investing thought and time to get the analysis right and the story tight

Good to have

● Experience programming surveys in platforms like Qualtrics or Survey Gizmo
