GALE Partners is seeking for an Associate Director, Programmatic that provides analytics-based strategic insights and directions aimed at designing, developing, and deploying effective digital media tactics.

This position requires both quantitative and qualitative skill sets, including managing large data sets and interpreting them towards solving business problems, a proficiency in digital media advertising and DMP technology platforms and tools, and a critical understanding of reporting, data visualization, and modelling. The candidate must have a proven track record in data-rich analyses and be a team player. A “roll-up-your-sleeves” approach is mandatory and a “get-it-done” attitude is a must. Specific responsibilities include audience analysis, discovery, and segmentation, and utilization of various data partners and audience types within a DMP platform - ensuring projects are effectively delivered and visualized.

Successful candidates will be highly motivated, independent thinkers, who can act instinctively without detailed supervision. They are multi-dimensional ‘rising-stars’ who have an intellectual curiosity to do complex problem solving and can communicate these succinctly to a broad client and media stakeholder audience. This position reports to the VP/Director Analytics and to the EVP/Chief Intelligence Officer.


What You Will Do

  • Design and execute audience scoring & discovery & indexing across demographic, behavioral, and contextual attributes with both 1st and 3rd party data, analytical plans to test the effectiveness of media campaign impact on brand outreach or retention programs.
  • Emphasis on understanding and applying statistical testing and segmentation techniques in media planning. Assist in the integration of recommendations in media initiatives.
  • Recommend appropriate measurement and methodologies for analyzing large data sets and for developing a story that is actionable and impactful.
  • Partner with external analytical stakeholders to plan, execute, and analyze ongoing campaign performance and data enhancement strategies.
  • As required/appropriate, perform hands-on analysis in support of results, including development of conclusions and implications. Degree of ‘hands-on’ will depend on the growth of analytics team. Subject matter expertise in advanced analytics and techniques using Tableau, SQL, R, Python, and Aginity (via Amazon Web Services) is preferred.

Who You Are

  • Minimum of four years of experience in leading/performing analytics in marketing sciences capacity at a market research, consulting, media or retail firms.
  • Quantitative educational background (preferred advanced degree in Statistics, Social Sciences, Economics, Quantitative Marketing)
  • Experience with DMP platforms such as Adobe, BlueKai (Oracle), Salesforce (Krux), Google/ DoubleClick Campaign Manager and DoubleClick Bid Manager, and other players in the digital ad tech landscape desired. Direct familiarity with Audience Manager, Omniture, a big plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and solid foundation in statistical analysis
  • High proficiency with Excel very important – being able to use advanced Excel functions, and MS Access for ‘self-reliant’ analysis. Working knowledge of statistical packages SAS, SPSS; SQL queries
  • Excellent communications skills. Strong presentation skills. Proven ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to broad based stakeholder audience.
  • Experience in a cross-functional team environment. Agency experience a big plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of web measurement technologies
  • Ad serving platforms (e.g. DART) and digital display campaign performance data
  • Website analytics software (e.g. Adobe Site Catalyst, Test & Target)
  • Knowledge of syndicated media research & systems (Nielsen, comScore, MRI, Scarborough)
  • Technical computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of statistical software packages (e.g. SPSS, SAS)
  • Database analysis skills: MS Access/SQL a must
