Dr. Ibram X. Kendis book rose to the top of The New York Times Bestseller List in 2020 in the wake of Black Lives Matter protests. The Times called it, “The most courageous book to date on the problem of race in the Western mind.”

Kendi has authored many books, including two other #1 New York Times bestsellers, “Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You,” co-authored with Jason Reynolds and a Kirkus Prize Finalist; and “Antiracist Baby.” Netflix announced in January 2021 it is producing three new projects based on Kendi’s books.

It’s Black History Month, and we’re very excited to use our platform to spotlight the many contributions from people of color, ranging from creators to politicians to sports figures to social justice advocates and more. This month, keep an eye on GALE as we curate stories and highlight the changemakers who are pushing boundaries and making history happen as we speak.
